Lodging and Dining at Dimbangombe

Dimbangombe offers a variety of lodging choices to suit your budget, comfort level, and sense of adventure.

  • Chalets The ultimate in privacy, these lovely thatched structures are perched on a hillside with stunning views all around. You are surrounded by bush, yet near enough to headquarters to feel comfortable walking to the dining area at night. Each chalet sleeps two and includes private bath.

  • Bungalows - Located near our headquarters atop a ridge that overlooks a large vlei used by game as a corridor between water points. Each bungalow has three bedrooms, with private entrance and bath, that sleep two to four persons (14 total).

  • Tented Camp - Located a half-mile from headquarters on the banks of the Dibangombe River under a magnificent grove of Acacia albidas. The camp abounds with exciting bird life and elephant, kudu, impala and baboons can be spotted drinking from pools downriver. Lanterns light the way at night to the open-air bathroom enclosed by pole and thatch walls. The experience of showering under the stars is one you won't want to miss! Each tent sleeps two (8 total).

  • Dining - Thatched umbrellas over each table in our outdoor dining area provide charm and comfort. This area can be used for meeting breakouts, as well as dining. Meals are served buffet style and are truly delicious. Catering manager Trish Pullen, serves plenty of fresh salads, fruit and vegetables from our organic gardens, cooks up a mean braiivleis (African barbecue), and lays on sumptuous deserts. Ice-cold drinks are available any time, and hot tea or coffee in the early mornings and late afternoon. Beer and wine also available. Guests staying in the tented camp can have meals prepared and served around the campfire.

The tented camp is well worth the stay. From the outdoor showers and bathroom to the superb meals served under huge shade trees. Nighttime around the campfire listening to the sounds of the African bush is in itself a truly unique experience.
